    I deliberated a moment: my answer, when it did come, was objectionable: 'I must keep in good health and not die.'

That has genuinely been my favourite quote from Jane Eyre ever since I read it! F.T.W.! (Yes, I did just say "for the win" in relation to a Jane Eyre quote...) ;P
